New Year’s Message

Sheri McNeil Savory* – A message from Sheri McNeil Savory for a New Year! We have blessings all around us if we just look closely. History repeats itself and if we learn a lesson along the way or find a way to adjust our behavior to insure a more productive outcome then we can call ourselves successful.

This year my family welcomed a new granddaughter who has grown very quickly and has already kissed her first boy her own age. My other granddaughter is now six years old and excels in most things she puts her mind to completing. My daughter is a successful TV Commercial Production Manager/ Producer and my son is traveling the world as a cinematographer. In 2015 plans are underway for a tour of Nova Scotia to learn about the Scottish culture that has been preserved there. We will meet in Halifax July 21st, 2015 to begin our journey of 8 days then off to Cape Breton and Cabot Trail. We will see natural wonders and participate in a Milling Frolic with the local Scots. Two cinematographers will be along on the tour to film our adventure and create a documentary series that will be sent.

I wish prosperity to all of you in 2015 with peace and tranquility for the New Year.

This year many breakthroughs in the world of DNA research and genealogy. DNA testing continues to reveal more specific details about the origin of many haplogroups. Details are found in SNP tests that prove more enlightening then previously thought. Please be sure to share your stories and DNA questions with me at researchdnawriters@gmail.com.

DNA SPOTLIGHT

The world of DNA has changed the way Scottish clans view their origins. We find many Vikings formed the lines that we know in Barra, Argyll and many other places in the Scottish Isles. We have determined through DNA testing that some R1b Vikings came from Scandinavia to places like Barra while other I1 Viking families populated Argyll when they relocated from their home in Iceland. The Scots that have Viking blood have been surprised and confused as science attempts to explain the details of the migration of the human genome. I will continue to bring the latest information to you by reporting DNA news on LAtalkradio.com/Savory.php every Tuesday at 10 AM PST.
